Intended audience
Operators involved in rope access system;
Operators involved in rope access system (subsequently they will have to also attend the supervisors module)
Any other individuals concerned such as employers, freelancers, security staff and inspectors.
Prerequisites
Participants must be:
- in good, self-certified physical and mental condition;
- of age.
Objectives
Provide the necessary skills (knowledge and ability), for carrying out rope access work.
Course fee
840,00€ per participant at Kong premises (VAT exempt).
The course will be activated upon reaching a minimum of 4 participants and a maximum of 8.
Contents
Theory (12 hours)
- General safety regulations for work sites at height
- Analysis of the most recurrent dangers, exclusion area, signs, surveillance, anchors
- Specific PPE maintenance, checks, inspections
- Techniques for making anchors
- Types of access on ropes
- Operating procedure techniques with access from above
- Techniques and operating procedures with access from below
- Fall factor
- Risks and methods of protection of ropes
- Teamwork organization, operators' tasks, communication methods
- First aid items, rescue operating procedures
- Illustration of the recovery kit and its use
- Theoretical examination of rope operator
Training (20 hours)
- Movement on fixed lines, overcoming of fractionations, safe ascent of fixed stairs,pylons and long ropes
- Operator positioning techniques
- Safe access to the places where the anchors are made
- Realization of anchors and splitting on artificial structures and on natural elements
- Execution of descents with operator at the end of the rope
- Execution of descents with autonomous operator
- Execution of descents with autonomous operator with overcoming fractions
- Execution of low-low access with relative evacuation with hoists and other specific equipment
- Application of lifting techniques, lowered positioning of materials
- Practical exam for rope operator
PPE and Log book
Participants are advised to bring their own PPE (if already in possession), clothing and footwear functional for training.
If the PPE are not suitable, the organization will provide to supply them.
Who has already the Kong Log Book, should bring it in order to update.
Certification
A qualifying certificate is issued upon successful completion of the course and test.
Payment procedure
Bank transfer within two days of receipt of the course confirmation.
Cancellation
In case of cancellation, Kong S.p.A. will retain:
- 50% of the course fee if cancellation is done 2 working days before the course starts
- the whole fee if cancellation is done the day of the course
Any absences for health reasons entitle the fee to be suspended only if documented by 12 noon on the first day of the course.
